Certification - the long-term solution for our forests

The bulk of our framing products are sourced from a variety of state government and privately managed plantations.

The large majority of our timber products manufactured in Mt Gambier, South Australia and Caboolture, Queensland are sourced from ISO 14001 certified plantation forests. The state forests in New South Wales that supply our Tumut mill are also on the way to obtaining ISO 14001 certification.

Certification provides an effective basis for demonstrating production sustainability to the community, demonstrating the sound environmental credentials of plantation timber.

Timber is renewable, recyclable and biodegradable and requires far less energy in production than any alternative materials.

ISO 14001

This is a voluntary environmental management standard developed for the purpose of certification. It can be applied in any country and is not specific to forestry.

The ISO 14001 standard puts emphasis on the development of policy, management systems, monitoring, feedback and continual improvement.
